Full or partial scholarships are available for medical students from various sources. Any student who wishes to obtain a scholarship should submit an application to the Office for Student Affairs no later than the announced final date prior to the beginning of each semester.
All scholarship candidates must be recommended to the Dean for approval by the Student Guidance Committee of the Medical College, which reviews the need in each case for granting scholarship.
Some scholarships are given as outright grants for outstanding scholastic achievement, while others are available for students with above average achievement who need scholarship assistance.
The total grants including exemption of the student fees from the 1st semester to the 2nd semester of 2000 are as follows:

A total amount of ￦229,891,000 was granted to 99 students from 34 different sources for two semesters in 2000. Twelve of these scholarships are full scholarships and the others are partial scholarships.
The Kwang Hye Scholarship is funded by the Alumni Association for medical students to continue their scholastic pursuit. It is a long-term low interest loan system for students available since 1982. Repayment of the loan should be completed within 10 years after the recipient's graduation. The amount of this scholarship per student for one semester was ff3,211,000, the total amount of tuition in the 2000 academic year. Since the foundation of the scholarship, the total number of recipients has been 1,271 with a total monetary value of ￦1,500,000,000.
