Specialized Elective Course

This course is introduced to accomodate the needs for diversity, specialization and individuality in the 21 st century. By replacing the previous stereotyped courses with this newly designed course, Yonsei University College of Medicine seeks to develop the potentiality and interest of students, to expand their horizons and promote better understanding of society as doctors and to help them determine their future specialties. This course runs 8 weeks and is composed of Clinical Science Track, Basic Science Track and Outside & Overseas Experience Track.

The purpose of Clinical Science and Basic Sciense Track is as follows:
By actively participating in their preceptor research and clinical activities and engaging in academic discussions with the preceptor, the student will acquire basic knowledge on the fundamentals of clinical research as well as basic science research.

The purpose of Outside & Overseas Experience Track is as follows:
By participating in research and patient care at other specialized medical institutions in Korea or overseas, the students will have the opportunity to expand their horizons and develop their potentialities.
